Due to the diesel price is going higher, APSRTC is searching for substitutes. By implementing Battery Buses, RTC is taking
steps to reduce the cost of diesel as well as to protect environment. In this context Vijayawada Depot is conducting a
trial run with a Battery Bus released from Gold Stone Company.
This bus runs 250 kms from 5
hours charging. The cost of this Bus
will be approximately Rs.1.6 crore.
Since this is a very expensive, first they are conducting a trial run
and if this is successfully completed with positive results there is a chance
to purchase another 100 Buses. These
busses will run in between Gannavaram and Amaravathi.
